A Very Late Week 1 Post.
To the three of you that checked up on this site Monday morning, anticipating some profound words about the previous nights activities, I can only offer my most sincere apologies. However rather than getting down on myself, I decided to create the best post ever in anticipation of tomorrow’s faire, and win all of your hearts back. Shortly after making that decision, I also realized that my lack of writing ability combined with an almost crippling lack of creativity would make that ultimate post impossible. In lieu of the ultimate post please see below to my predictions of how week 2 will pan out:
Wildman 21 – Lady Lumps 3
First Blood 13 – Red Lyon 7
Jazzhaus 15 – Brew Ballers 5
Eldridge 9 – Slowride 4
Replay 18 – Solidarity 0 (but a good natured 0)

Pita Pit 20 – Blue Collar 5
Open Sky 11 – Mad Greek 10
West Coast 15 – Girls with LSE 12

I think you’ve got the picks pretty close. The only game I fully disagree on is Mad Greek/Open Sky. Although Open Sky has a season under their belt now, the Greek has kept their core together for a few years, and they know how to utilize their weapons. I’m told they played a pretty tight game for several innings before First Blood finally pulled away from them last week. After playing AstroKitty last week, I am convinced that they will have a winning season and be a threat in the postseason. They signed a few of the Bottleneck free agents and now have some power, speed and arm strength that they have lacked in seasons past. I’m anxious to see how the Milton’s/Liberty Hall game goes. Milton’s lost badly last week, but I know Dan and Manda will make the necessary adjustments to keep them competitive. Liberty Hall won a close one last week, but their best player from last season was playing left field for RangeLife. I’m curious to see them play. As for the GOTW, I hope the score is as close as you predict…that sure would be a fun one to watch. I like those fun-lovin’ Free Staters, but since they are in my pool, I will be selfishly cheering on the Screamers. Hope we see a couple upsets this week (one in particular at Fenway), but it seems that early in the season the better team usually wins. So it goes.
